Background
TatvaGyan provides high-quality, affordable early childhood and remedial education support in rural India. They help children of low-income communities get a good foundation in early learning as well as achieve the minimum benchmarks for learning by establishing and operating a lean chain of quality-driven affordable learning hubs called ‘ThinkZone’ which are managed by local women. They implement scalable technology-driven educational solutions while simultaneously creating women changemakers in local communities through dignified livelihood opportunities.

As a Social Startup, their mission is to address the learning crisis in rural India by providing high-quality education while simultaneously creating women micro-entrepreneurs at the BoP.

Their enterprise had been chosen as: a high-potential social enterprise (Villgro & Intelecap- April 2014), among Top 10 social enterprises (Indian School of Business - October 2014), the best Odisha based social enterprise (Villgro - February 2015), top 10 upcoming education start-ups(Unitus Seed Fund -May 2015) and very recently been selected among the 18 global cohort of social enterprises by GSBI(Nov-2015) ​

Role
To add an important member to the leadership and founding team; one who is enthusiastic about creating a positive impact for the underserved communities. TatvaGyan is a high growth, mission driven and highly entrepreneurial organization. They are looking for a co-founder who can help shape the future of the organization. The main focus of the role is to consolidate what has been started on-ground, continuously improve operations and lay a framework for TatvaGyan's pilot and later its aggressive growth. The person will ensure strong management, systems, and processes to scale our program with quality. They look for a risk-taker, proactive person who is enthusiastic about their mission and takes ownership of it. Due to the newly emerging and quickly growing nature of TatvaGyan, the role of the co-founder won't be restricted to a particular set of responsibilities.

Someone with prior experience in new product development(for example in Web & Mobile App Development) or in handling/executing large scale on-ground project operations could be ideal to complement the skill sets of the exisiting founding members.
Prerequisites

  • Minimum undergraduate degree with exemplary track record
  • Excellent people management skills – atleast a year of experience in a people management role
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills(Knowledge of Odia will be an added advantage)
  • Knowledge of the education market (products, business models, trends)
  • Passion for improving educational opportunities for low-income families children
  • Experience evaluating programs and processes in a professional setting such as management consulting, project management or evaluation.
  • Comfort with regular travel to remote locations
  • Passion, humility, integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed.
