Roles & Responsibilities
Milaap has worldwide teams of editing volunteers. As a Milaap Volunteer,

  • You will review loan descriptions that come in from the field and prepare them for posting. The loan stories will empower site visitors to contribute to unprivileged Indians who seek to uplift themselves by accessing basic necessities. ​
  • You will review borrower and loan data, and use this data to write and edit concise, compelling, and accurate borrower profiles and descriptions of their needs.
  • You will also make sure that these profiles and descriptions comply with Milaap’s search engine optimization (SEO) strategy. 
Prerequisites
  • Interested applicants will be required to take an online test
  • Have excellent writing skills to frame stories in order to attract Milaap's benefactors to communicate the stories in an impactful and engaging way.
  • Skilled in simple, artistic, clear and persuasive writing that can incite action and create awareness among the readers.
  • Passion for writing and communications.
  • Two-three hours per week committment in reviewing the loan stories assigned to them
  • The volunteer should be comfortable with the internet and email
Compensation & Benefits
  • ​Flexible volunteering term  
  • Volunteer certificate will be provided in recognition of the volunteering term, the volunteer's work and achievement. Certificate will be given at the end of volunteering term.
