Background
Azim Premji Foundation is a not-for-profit organization that has been working for more than a decade now towards making deep, large scale and institutionalized impact on the quality and equity of education in India, along with related development areas. Any large scale educational change requires significant and sustained effort over many decades and can only be achieved through working at multiple levels as well as on several areas simultaneously. The Foundation today works in 8 states which together have more than 3, 50,000 schools.

Role & Responsibilities
The Fellowship Programme of Azim Premji Foundation aims to give a hands-on, enriching experience in the education and social sector to a diverse group of people with varied backgrounds.

The comprehensive two-year programme will focus on: 
  • Hands-on teaching at government schools in blocks of a district
  • Deep immersion in education to kindle, develop and build the incumbent’s perspectives
  • Participation in the activities of the District Institute (DI) where you are placed and to understand the various roles in the DI
  • Year 2 activities will be spent in capacity building preparing for a suitable role that an incumbent might choose in the DI after the completion of the Fellowship Programme. 

Job Location: Fellows are expected to be prepared to live and work in rural environments which provides an important exposure to challenging living conditions of that terrain. Fellows will be posted to interior districts of Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Puducherry, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and Telangana.

Prerequisites
The Foundation welcomes young and bright people from varied backgrounds and with a willingness to explore the social sector and a deep desire to contribute to the Education space.

​Fellow candidates are eligible to apply if they have:
  • 3 to 7 years of work experience.
  • A post-graduate or a professional degree in any discipline.
  • Proficiency in local languages (Hindi or Kannada or Tamil or Telugu)

Benefits & Compensation
Rs. 27, 000 (subject to statutory tax deductions). Benefits include Provident fund and Health Insurance.
