Background
Kahaani Wale is an artist collective based in New Delhi, India, that produces and creates visual and audio content to tell stories of change across South Asia. The Collective creates authentic and creative art that pushes boundaries. The collective tells stories to engage, provoke, inspire and ultimately act. Its goal is to give an opportunity to every storyteller to tell his/her story and present an original voice to the world. To be able to fulfill this goal, the collective supports, collaborates and produces independent storytellers. The collective comprises of storytellers from areas of film, music, animation, photography, illustration and design. 

Role & Responsibilities
Kahaani Wale is creating a short video series called ‘FINDING ME’ on Section 377 with a focus on identity, selfhood, intimacy and human interaction. The project intends to explore intimate spaces of human interaction and life beyond its daily mundaneness. Researcher will work directly with the Filmmaker of the project on:  
  • Breaking the issues surrounding Section 377 into different themes
  •  Preparation of concept note and narrative for the videos
  •  Identifying interesting stories of people across the spectrum of gender, caste and religion
  •  Supporting the filmmaker for content during shooting the videos
  • Supporting the post production team
  •  Developing a written detailed conversation on each video

Prerequisites
  •  Candidates should have a strong understanding of research methodology. Preference will be given to candidates who have prior experience of social science research
  • Ability to engage critically with information and draw valuable conclusions from data
  •  A knack for presenting complex information in an understandable and accessible way
  •  Ability to formulate ways of research according to the project’s needs and requirements
  • Ability to incorporate creative ideas within the framework of research
  •  Candidates should be handy with numbers
  •   Applicants with a degree or strong background in law, journalism, sociology, political science, economics, gender studies or anthropology will be preferred



Benefits & Compensation
Remuneration  will depend upon the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
