Background
vChalk's mission is to support thousands of teachers close the early English learning gaps of 1 million children enrolled in school so that children progress in school and follow their dreams. Using offline technology in resource limited classrooms, vChalk enables any teacher to take activity-based classes in primary grades and teach at-the-right-level by grouping the children based on what they actually know. 

vChalk is a winner of the NASSCOM Social Innovation Forum Tech for Good Award 2016 and a global finalist of the Global Edtech Startup Award 2017 .
Roles & Responsibilities
  • Co-execute impact measurement tasks in the field: what do kids know, what do they need to practice in vChalk activity-based classes, what is the growth of children every three months etc.
  • Co-organize the assessment day in partner schools
  • Test the English speaking and listening skills of minimum 40 kids/day in our partner schools using an Android app to record the level of each child and following the assessment structure
  • Assign to and collect from children the English reading and writing tests
  • Ensure the learning data is accurately collected and recorded for every child
  • Collaborate with the Learning and Tech Directors to improve the assessment structure and the existing data recording systems
  • Deliver and take feedback on children’s progress to/from low-income parents in Kannada or English during parent workshops in schools in and around Bangalore
  • Assist the team with research (interviews, surveys) on teachers’, parents’ and children’s experience with vChalk
Prerequisites
  • Graduate or a Postgraduate with 0-3 years of work experience.
  • Speak fluent Kannada and English
  • Comfortable with smartphone applications
  • Knowledge of basic Microsoft excel – data entry, filter, sorting, formatting etc.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Listen actively and learn continuously.
  • Willing to travel every day or as needed to schools across Bangalore and Karnataka
  • Passionate to improve educational opportunities for children from lower-income families
Compensation & Benefits
INR 12,000-16,000 per month
