Background
Tara* Kaushal is a writer and media consultant based in Mumbai, India. She writes on gender, sexuality, equal rights and sociocultural issues. As a media consultant, she has worked with big brands across print, web and even a little radio and TV. More on her  website mentioned below. 
 
Tara* is now working on a to-be-launched multimedia gender journalism and activism project called Why Indian Men Rape, that explores the unique sociocultural, economic, legal and religious reasons that cause gender violence in India. ​ This multimedia project spans two books, a documentary and an active online presence… over several years.
Roles & Responsibilites
Looking for a smart and dynamic multitasker who will have to:
  • Write grammatically perfect copy
  • Keep the social media and online profiles alive and kicking
  • Read, read, read some pretty serious stuff
  • Conduct interviews
  • Manage freelancers
  • Assist with research
  • Help create and run fundraising campaigns
  • Apply for grants
And much more.
Prerequisites
  • A fresh English, Sociology or Anthropology grad or post grad
  • Passionate about feminism and gender studies
  • Great at social media
  • A stickler for grammatically perfect copy

While the role requires no prior work-ex, your academic record and references are important. Also—you must love pets, as you’ll have canine and feline colleagues (seriously).

The job is full-time; and based out of Juhu, Mumbai, and off a laptop. ​
Compensation & Benefits
Remuneration is as per industry standards. There will be a one-year lock-in stipulation in the contract. ​
