Background
Collaborative Research and Dissemination (CORD) is an independent education research group that seeks to articulate the problems of the disadvantaged through field-based research. CORD endeavours to influence policy and public opinion by making its research findings accessible to the public.

The group believes in multidisciplinary and collaborative research and has collaborated with a number of national and international organizations and institutes of repute, both government and non-government.  They have also taken an active interest in building research skills of grassroots organizations and research groups. CORD’s research findings have contributed to the civil society movement and advocacy towards better and more meaningful education for the disadvantaged.


Role & Responsibilities
CORD's currently hiring Research Investigators for fieldwork for their project on "Learning Outcomes and Teacher Effectiveness for Children Facing Multiple Disadvantages, Including those with Disabilities".
  • You will be required to fill in a detailed survey questionnaire in Hindi.
  • You will be conducting child interviews and literacy and numeracy tests.
  • If you are interested in working in the area of education, and gaining field experience in conducting quantitative surveys, this would be a suitable role for you.

Prerequisites
CORD researchers are expected to be interested in doing research and dissemination that is oriented towards improving the lives of disadvantaged groups.
  • Graduate in any of the Social Sciences (may be relaxed, for exceptional candidates)
  • Fluency in Hindi (ability to speak, read and write) is essential.
  • Experience in survey data collection in rural areas will be given preference.
  • Knowledge of issues in education/disability will be helpful.
  • Candidates should be based in Haryana or in regions in close proximity to it.

Compensation
Remuneration will be around Rs 12,000/- per month. Field expenses will be covered separately. A higher remuneration may be considered for exceptional candidates.
