Background
Katha has been helping children grow up to be India’s reader–leaders. The organisation works to enhance the joy of reading and the love of books among children.

Through cooperative action and activism, Katha brings together parents, teachers and everyone concerned about children’s lack of interest in reading. Its various reading initiatives bring the flavours and colours of India alive to children across the socio-economic, linguistic and cultural divides.

Over the last 28 years, Katha’s two wings — Kalpavriksham and Katha Vilasam—have grown immensely while bringing the joy of reading to children and adults.

Roles & Responsibilities
Katha is looking for a Researcher who is passionate and driven towards the cause of education, especially for the marginalised sections of our society. The Researcher will be an intrinsic part of Katha’s KHEL (Katha Holistic Early Learning) Team. 

The job profile:
  • Academic background in research and education, with basic or thorough experience of working in field at grassroot level.
  • Fair inclination towards curriculum design, training programmes, pedagogy and learning, with the ability to conduct surveys and impact study of a programme.
  • Content development for training programmes, report writing and communication as well as coordinator with partners.
  • Ability to plan, strategise and implement programme requirements such as creative writing or storytelling workshops.


Prerequisites
  • Talented freshers with excellent resume and portfolio are welcome to apply. Experience of extensive field work and community engagement will be preferred.
  • The candidate should have a background in the Social Sciences and Humanities, especially Social Work and Education.
  • The candidate should have a knack for creative- critical thinking and analysis, willingness to learn, and openness to new ideas.
  • She/he should have passion to make a difference to the lives of children through quality education.

Compensation & Benefits
Rs. 20,000 - 25,000
