Background
Kanyaka Foundation is an initiative started by a Young India Fellow and a Gandhi Fellow. The Foundation's aim is to eradicate poverty by empowering women with education in rural areas of the country and in turn help these women lead the fight against poverty.  It believes that education brings economic liberation, which in turn facilitates social liberation.

​Kanyaka's current project ‘Gender Education Research Fellowship’ is a fellowship of action- based research and formulation of model policy. The fellowship will also take into consideration  the capacity of a particular school's stakeholders for gender education, based on outcomes. It will be launched in budget private schools. Kanyaka intends to replicate this model across other North Indian states in upcoming years. 


Roles & Responsibilites
  • School outreach, Conducting PTM’s (Parent teachers meetings) Meeting with school stakeholders, Reporting, drafting an action research proposal based on your observed questions/ gaps. 
  • Constant support to central team to provide evidence-based best practices and document it.
  • Define and design action-based research projects with the help of the Gender Education Ambassador of the foundation. 
  • Plan and organize school principal workshops on different themes of the organization

Prerequisites
  • Familiar/ sensitive with education sector and gender issues
  • Effective Communication
  • Team Player
  • Research driven/ basic understanding of data collection and action research
