Most Traveller magazine features range from 1,500 to 2,500 words, depending on the subject. Features on Traveller Online range from 500 to 1,000 words. Browse through the sections on the website to get a clear idea of the kind of stories you can pitch.
They’re interested in destinations that are accessible to most people. Stories often explore a specific personal experience that connects to a larger theme. Fact-file information is generally given separately at the end of each feature in a section that includes how to get to the destination, things to see and do there, and where to obtain more information. Subjects include photography, food, accommodation, ecotourism, adventurous learning experiences, short getaways and reflections on the travel experience. Prospective contributors must avoid giving the impression that they are representing the National Geographic Society or Traveller. |
